REQUIREMENTS: The participant must either be 14 if they have participated in Jr. Guards prior, OR they must be 15 years or older. This course is designed to prepare kids to enter the workforce next year as lifeguards or waterpark employees.
Water jug, towel, sunscreen, bathing suit, and water shoes (or flip flops). The student is responsible for bringing their own lunch. Top Guard Training and Island Waterpark will not be responsible for lost or stolen property.
Top Guard Instructors have a combined 80+ years experience with lifeguarding, waterfront, and aquatics programs. Our teaching techniques are unique. For more than 30 years we have worked with summer resident camps, municipal governments, schools, and youth-based organizations. Our focus is beyond the skills of lifeguarding but centered around team building, communication, respect, and cooperation. These are the essential elements of lifeguarding.
If you are going to be late, please text the program director so we can be aware. We do not provide refunds for days missed.
Children 12 years of age and older can re-enter the park after purchasing a WWAP admission ticket or using their Season Pass.
There is a $35.00 charge for cancellations made up to seven (7 days) before the program begins. Cancellations made less than seven days before the first day of instruction will receive a 50% refund of fees. No refund will be given after the first day of instruction.
Once they turn 15 they can be certified. For this program they are not eligible just yet, but will obtain some lifelong skills along the way.
